Get more from your blog

When we wrote our book, weblogs were a very new subject. As a result, we focused on mostly beginner stuff: how to get up and running, who was doing it well, and what kinds of things to focus on. As more lawyers have taken up blogging, many are starting to try and tweak their blogs to get more out of them.

I collected a number of tips & tricks and posted them to my blog in a post titled "get more from your blog".

Web site tracking

Tracking the effectiveness of Web sites is an imperfect science. Even with the relatively user-friendly WebTrends, it's difficult to pinpoint the actual number of visitors.

According to a July 29, 2003 article by Wil Reynolds called "Your Web Metrics Can Be All Wrong--Part 1" and published at www.marketingprofs.com, there are certain tracking red flags that should tell you that your visitor numbers might be (and likely are) skewed.
